Pincer is our super-heavyweight crusherbot designed for BattlebotsPincer is a 340 pound hybrid electric/gas powered hydraulic Crusher Bot. Pincer generates enough pressure to pierce 1/4 inch steel at the jaw tips and can lift 1500 pounds straight overhead. Pincer has a computer controlled, computer stabilized 4-wheel-drive, 4-wheel-steering, drive-by-wire drive platform.  Front wheels and rear wheels turn 180 degrees completely independent of the other end.  This drive line will give Pincer unprecedented mobility and maneuverability to allow him to bring his massively destructive weapons platform to bear.  Each drive wheel is powered by two 1.4 horsepower electric motors making the complete drive line power over 11 horsepower.   The dual stage hydraulic pump is powered by a 3 horsepower gas engine capable of running at any angle, even up-side-down.  An on board 2 HP, 1100 Watt, generator ensures that the overpowered drive line does not drain the 13 amp-hours of on board battery storage by supplying a continuous 45 amps of 24VDC.

The drive line is the Mechacidal Maniac, then a hydraulic weapons platform.

The crushing claw cylinder has a 3" bore while the lifting and piercing cylinders have 1.5" bores.  These will be pressurized by 3000PSI.
The 3 HP chainsaw engine and dual stage hydraulic pump.  The pump will supply 18 gallons per minute and 3000 PSI... of course not at the same time, that is why we have our fancy control valves and smarts to make sure we get the fastest traverse rate and the maximum crushing power.  Thanks Parker!!.

The initial horsepower calcualtions were in error.  This engine has been replaced with a 9 HP 110cc two stroke engine.

The Innovation First Robot controller system.  This makes our $20 high torque servo possible, plus allows some other interesting dynamics.  Come to BattleBots to see what I mean!
The claw has a piercing knife style tip.
This massive jaw will give Pincer an 88" reach when both jaws are fully open.
Here are our fancy Parker control valves.

working on the component layout in the drive chassis.

To participate in the IFPE in Las Vegas we have to run an electric motor instead of the gas engine.

Also due to a design change we will also need a crushing cylinder with clevises.

It looks like Pincer is turning into a show bot for now.  All these latest changes will definately put us over the weight limit, but we will learn a lot from this.
